Birth Month Flower Gifts for Book Lovers (2026)

There’s something about birth month flowers that feels so special to us at Page Petal. They speak to something we all have in common (a birthday, of course!) in a way that’s connected to the world around us. It’s part of why we wanted to start a collection of bookmarks inspired by birth month flowers. A little reminder to tuck in our pages of our presence ... and that we are all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Because who doesn’t need that reminder every now and again?

Since launching the collection, we’ve had customers tell us they’ve selected birth month flower bookmarks to honor such a range of occasions — the birth of a new baby, a loss of a loved one, a celebration of their own special day, or the birth month of someone they love. They’re some of our favorite gifts for birthdays, thank-yous, just because moments, and beyond. The best part? Every bookmark is handmade and one-of-a-kind, perfectly imperfect in its own way.

Birth Month Flowers Bookmarks and Meanings

January Birth Month Flower: The Carnation

Carnations are among the few flowers with different meanings depending on color. For example, red symbolizes deep affection, white for purity, and pink represents gratitude and a mother's love.

February Birth Month Flower: Violets

February's birth flowers are violets (and sometimes primroses), symbolizing modesty, faithfulness, loyalty, and delicate love. Fun fact: Shakespeare fans might also be familiar with violets as frequent symbols in Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Twelfth Night.

March Birth Month Flower: Cherry Blossoms

While March's primary birth flower is the daffodil (often including jonquils), we chose to press Cherry Blossoms to reflect the renewal of spring and a season of fresh starts.

June Birth Month Flower: Rose

Ah, to be born in June! The rose symbolizes, you guessed it, love, beauty, and passion. And it's part of one of the most famous lines in literature in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet ... "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

October Birth Month Flower: Cosmo

Cosmos symbolize harmony, peace, balance and enduring love. Their name comes from the Greek word for “ordered universe,” a nod to their neatly arranged, daisy-like petals in shades of pink, white and orange.

November Birth Month Flower: Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemums, or "mums," represent joy, longevity, loyalty, and optimism. As you probably know from Trader Joe's selection during the fall, they thrive in autumn with vibrant hues from gold to red, pink, white, and purple. And while we're on the subject, we highly recommend John Steinbeck's short story The Chrysanthemums.
